As some of you know, Sierra Preschool is about to turn fifty years old!  Although we haven’t been in our “little yellow schoolhouse” that long, we are outgrowing it and we are looking for assistance.  Our landlord is interested in selling the building to us.  In addition to the updating and improvements the building needs, there are potential changes from licensing that would require other renovations as well.

As we go forward with this significant undertaking we will need help from the alumni and current parents.   We are looking for people who may be willing to help purchase the property, either through donations or as an investment.  We would appreciate assistance from a real estate agent, real estate lawyer and a mortgage broker to help with the transaction.  Once we buy the property we will need considerable help with the improvements, with both manual labor and donated goods.

We will also be holding more fundraisers in the upcoming years to help defray the costs.  Possible fundraisers include having a food booth at the fair and home show, a fun run in conjunction with a fall festival to celebrate our 50th year, expanding our Quarter-A-Dips and a golf tournament.   We have also hired a grant writer to assist us in getting some grants.  She is optimistic that we will qualify for some.
